City of Brotherly Love
to Host Thirty-fifth Biennial Clergy-Laity Congress

New York, NY -- His Eminence Archbishop Spyridon, Primate of the Greek Orthodox Church of America, has announced that the city of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, has been selected to host the Thirty-fifth Biennial Clergy-Laity Congress in July 2000.

The theme of next summer's conference is: "Ageless Traditions in a New Millenium." The Clergy-Laity Congress will convene from July 1-6, 2000.

Rev. Father Demetrios Earl Cantos will serve as the Clergy Chairman, and Mr. Peter Pappas of New York will serve as the Lay Chairman.

The Clergy-Laity Congress is the legislative body of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America. It is concerned with matters affecting the life, growth and unity of the Church, her institutions, her finances, her administration, educational and philanthropic concerns, and her growing role in the religious life of the nations of the western hemisphere.
