Is the End Near? Is Another Arrest Imminent?

[ ... ]

Two publications over this past weekend in the Greek news speak loudly about what is happening behind the scenes in the GOA by Father Alex Karloutsos.

The first article was published on Friday (December 6th, 2019) from Ismini Haralambopoulou at Protothema with a headline roughly translated saying, "U.S. Authorities Investigate a Ring which was Ravaging the Archdiocesan's Coffers." This article references an alleged scheme of GOA individuals receiving millions of dollars related to the invitations offered for the annual celebration of the Greek Independence Day held at the White House. It is common knowledge that Father Alex Karloutsos personally organizes and has handled the White House Greek Independence Day celebration for decades. No one else at the Archdiocese is more involved than Father Alex. This article provides commentary about the lobbying services allegedly sold by the "ring" of individuals operating in the GOA to the United States and Greek businessmen.

The second article was published on Saturday (December 7th, 2019) from Marina Zioziou at Ethnos is an even more troubling article, roughly translated as saying, "Archdiocese of America: A Scandal of Megatons by Manhattan Rats." This article goes into more detail about who is operating within this alleged "ring" scamming the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America.

This article states that "powerful officials (allegedly in the GOA) were acting behind the back of Archbishop Demetrios" by allegedly trading large sums on money in the amount of $10,000 - $25,000 dollars for invitations to the U.S. President's annual White House ceremony to commemorate the anniversary of Greece's Independence. These invitations would also permit meetings to be arranged for Greek businessmen alleged associated with Father Alex Karloutsos to arrange meetings with high-ranking U.S. Officials to promote their own business interests.

The articles specifically mentions a man operating this exchange named "John H." or "John John." Some people speculate that the person identified as "John H." allegedly refers to John Horozoglou, a person who seems to be closely connected to who? TO FATHER ALEX KARLOUTSOS.

Who is John Horozoglou?

According to information publicly available, Mr. Horozoglou is a marketing specialist, lobbyist, and owner of a travel agency in Athens. Horozoglou allegedly told a few high-class Greek-Americans that Father Alex treated Horozoglou as if he was "his own son." Why would Father Alex treat Horozoglou like his own son? Because of all the money Mr. Horozoglou has allegedly been able to flow money his way over their long term acquaintance.

Beyond an alleged affair, Mr. Horozoglou allegedly acted as the "front man" to cover Father Alex Karloutsos tracks in regards to the flow of money and access to the U.S. politicians using the Greek Orthodox Church as cover. This information comes to light after Jerry Dimitriou has allegedly signed a plea agreement with U.S. authorities investigating the corruption operating in the GOA.

Mr. Nick Stamatakis, who recently published information that led to the resignation of Mr. Antonis Diamataris from his position as the Deputy Foreign Minister of Greeks Abroad, offered his own commentary about this latest news. The question Mr. Stamatakis asked in his publication was, "Is the Arrest of Father Alex Karloutsos Imminent?"

Only God knows whether Father Alex Karloutsos will be arrested.

But these new developments should alarm all Orthodox Christians in the GOA.

These developments were so concerning that Kalami - the website that exposed the lie by Mr. Antonis Diamataris that ended his public service career - reported that the Archdiocese issued a statement public statement moments ago denying any involvement with anyone associated with John Horozoglou.

In an email sent by the Archdiocesan Communications Office to its Listserv, the Archdiocese announced the following today:

The statement published on Kalami has yet to be released on the Archdiocesan website or social media pages.

If these published details by the Greek media are false and not true, then why would the Archdiocese bother to issue a statement at all? Why would they give any type of acknowledgement? They have been very good at ignoring all the other damning stories that have been published, why start commenting now?

It is likely because there is some truth to what has been published by the Greek media.

The actions previously described likely had the blessings of our Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople because we all know they will do anything for money. This is why we need to guard ourselves from the Ecumenical Patriarchate and Archbishop Elpidophoros. Our Ecumenical Patriarch and new Archbishop are deeply connected with Father Alex Karloutsos, and they are the ones speaking very highly of him, permitting him to continue with his "projects."

As long as Father Alex is employed and has authority in the GOA, we can no longer believe that Archbishop Elpidophoros has the best interests of the GOA.
