Archbishop of America Causes Major Disappointment on 2nd Day

We can forget all hope of transparency with Father Alexander Karloutsos being the Vicar General of the Archdiocese.

Christ's Church in America suffered a major setback today by Archbishop Elpidophoros of America. The GOA announced the appointment of Father Alexander Karloutsos as the Vicar General of the Archdiocese, a position that has been non-existent for over 25 years.

Instead of proceeding to "clean house," the Archbishop is putting all the dirt under an oriental rug.

Most faithful and pious Orthodox Christians are not only shocked by this development, but sadden that Archbishop Elpidophoros has compromised the integrity of the Office of the Archbishop on his second full day on the job. Just examine how the Archbishop showed up late to Church for his first official Divine Liturgy as Archbishop of America.

And why was the Archbishop late to Liturgy? Because Father Alex Karloutsos made His Eminence go on John Catsimatidis' Sunday radio program in New York before Divine Liturgy. As a billionaire Archon of the Church, shouldn't Mr. Catsimatidis set a positive example as a leader of the Church, and actually be in attendance in Church instead of doing another radio program?

The evidence is starting to show that Fr. Alex Karloutsos is still the "shadow Archbishop."

The people who put our Archdiocese in the financial collapse, including clergymen, should have been removed from their positions, not promoted. This irrational and spontaneous appointment by Archbishop Elpidophoros is a red flag to many faithful Orthodox Christians who know what is happening behind closed doors, and certainly to all the clergymen of the GOA who have little respect for a "priest" who would rather be in the company of millionaires and billionaires than the beggars on New York's streets.

Will our Metropolitan's look the other way, as seems to be their model of leadership, or will they speak up and stand up for the faithful who donate to the Church?
