Mr. Takis

At his last meeting with reporters in Athens Mr Takis was advised to publish himself the breaking news he was in possession of instead of briefing his colleagues on the matter. To Mr. Takis such idea must have seemed tempting. Thus, today the article by Mr. Gazouleas will appear -God willing- in an Athenian periodical, accompanied by two other reports; one on the Phanar and the other –a little like a weather forecast– on matters pertaining to our Archdiocese.

Of course, some people maintain that Taki Gazouleas has changed his mind and tried to retract his article. Could be, I don’t know. But tomorrow, when we see the report, we will be able to admire the man! We will see him "bringing owls to Athens", informing the Athenian public that the Archdiocese's struggles to uphold Greek national interests belong now to the past. Furthermore, he will enlighten the Athenians that the Phanar, on the basis of a premeditated plan, is now trying to part Iakovos' "robe" (i.e. by establishing new metropolises), so as to prevent all archdiocesan attempts to support Greek national interests..

Mr. Gazouleas --I am told-- says many other things as well. He speaks of an attempt to split the Greek Community of America into American-born and Greek-born. In short, all these reports bound together make up a story about an "interesting conspiracy" inspired by -who else?- our longtime enemy, the Turkish proconsul.
