Archdiocese To Train Church Youth Specialists

Archbishop Spyridon, recognizing the Church's need for a trained Church youth specialist, directed that an academic program be established on the St. Basil Academy campus that will train persons with skills to fill this void.

The Church youth specialist will serve at the parish level as coordinator for the Religious and Greek Education, and parish youth outreach ministries. The curriculum will include three components: Youth organizational, Greek and Religious Education.

The curriculum will include introductory course work in choral music that will equip the Church youth specialist with skills to organize and lead junior choirs. The first class will be admitted in the fall.

Those persons wishing to enroll in the youth specialist program or need information, should write to the:

Dean of Admissions, Church Youth Specialists Program, Saint Basil Academy - R2, Box 8A; Garrison, NY 10524
